US art museums to host Iranian features

Iranian films are to be screened at art museums in 3 US cities.

Art museums in three US cities have been set to hold screenings for a series of award-winning Iranian films.

The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts; the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art in Washington, DC; and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas will be holding screenings for award-winning Iranian films in January 2020.

The films in the lineup include:

‘Finding Farideh’ (2018) directed by Kourosh Ataee and Azadeh Mousavi

 

'6.5 per Meter' (Just 6.5) (2019) directed by Saeed Roustaee

 

‘Orange Days’ (2018) directed by Arash Lahouti

 

‘The Warden’ (2019) directed by Nima Javidi

 

‘When the Moon Was Full’ (2019) directed by Narges Abyar

 

‘Where is the Friend’s House?’ (1987) directed by Abbas Kiarostami

The three museums hold screenings each year, featuring a range of modern and classic Iranian films from contemporary and veteran filmmakers.

Screenings at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts will be held on January 16-26. Houston’s Museum of Fine Arts will hold screenings on January 17-26. Screenings held at The Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art in Washington, DC will run on January 5-February 2.
